Basic Omelette

Mastering a basic omelette opens the door to a variety of options by adding simple things like peppers, mushrooms and cheese.

Ingredients
  

  • 2 eggs
  • 1 small knob of butter
  • grated cheese or parmesan optional

Method
 

  1. Heat a medium pan on medium-high. Add the butter and let it melt across the base.
  2. Whisk the eggs in a jug and pour into the pan. Turn the heat off immediately.
  3. Using a spatula, push the egg in from the edges towards the centre, letting the wet egg run into the empty space. Repeat until almost set.
  4. Scatter cheese on top if using, then fold the omelette in half and serve.
